Move type
To move around the project scene, the option to choose between two mechanics is implemented:
Teleport – a method of moving in space in which the player is instantly moved to a given position by means of a teleportation beam. The teleportation beam is activated by pressing the corresponding button on your headset controller.
Locomotion – a method of movement in space in which the player moves freely to a given position using the analog stick on the controller (walking/locomotion simulation). This method of movement is only available on headsets with controllers equipped with an analog stick.
When you select the Locomotion Move mode, an additional Vignette option appears.
The Vignette darkens the edges of the image and helps make the above method of movement comfortable for the user. Customization of the degree of darkening is available, depending on personal preference.
Active OpenXR runtime
The OpenXR runtime environment is the access standard required to run a project on a VR headset.
To run the project correctly, you must select the appropriate environment that supports your device:
- The headset maker HTC Vive (as well as most other devices) is supported by the SteamVR runtime environment.
- It is recommended to use the Oculus runtime environment for Meta manufacturer's headsets.
- A Windows Mixed Reality runtime environment is provided for Windows Mixed Reality headsets.
